aren't you the fucking money person??????

jesus fucking christ I forgot how much fun it was dealing with my money person at international programs... today I call to get the credit card number to use for my overseas apt rental for the summer program and she's starts complaining that usually it can be paid in person once the program director arrives overseas. Seriously? when was the last time YOU rented an apt in the US and didn't have to pay rent up front? and how does she always manage to make it seem like it's ME doing stuff wrong?? additionally she didn't really want me to use the credit card for it but if we use the card then we don't have to pay the money handling fee (dollars to euros)... her response: well they should pay that anyway, it shouldn't come out of our end.

how fucking long have you been doing this and where in the world are all these mythical businesses that other program directors supposedly find who go ahead and pay the extra fees on the euro end?! that DOES NOT exist, unless you're just dealing with someone in Europe who is completely stupid or who has money to burn.

of COURSE the payOR pays extra fees - otherwise the payee might as well just only rent to people who already deal in euros, like program directors from other European countries or something - it's not like they are hurting for people to rent these places, for crying out loud.

I remember now she raised a stink last year too about the Sorbonne charging us a similar dollars to euros fee.

where do they get people like this to deal with overseas concerns? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
