something positive!

Refreshingly responsible... My 2020s are supposed to be starting their assignment for Composition I. 2020 student Stacey just wrote me:

For the Comp 1, I know that we cannot turn in the same composition that we
have written for another class, but I wanted to write about the movie Au Revoir
Les Enfants. I did write a comp about that movie in 2010, but the subject was
much different and it was basically just a synopsis and telling about the
characters. May I still write this new comp on Les Choristes?

I really appreciated her upfrontness so said she could as long as she includes a copy of her prior compo and discusses entirely new aspects of the film in the current assignment. I figured either she will include it and all will be well, or if she doesn't have it anymore then she'll just have to change her topic and no problem. One of those cases where being upfront about something makes things slightly more complicated for you and she may regret admitting it to me, actually. But still it's nice when people are responsible!
