Yesterday in the 2010 class, first test. Reading section where below the text they are to answer French T/F questions based on the reading and correct the false ones to make them true wherever applicable.
One of my aforementioned glare-y know-it-all's pipes up...
--On the reading section?
--Yes?
--Can we answer the questions in English?
--No.
--Last semester we were allowed to, in 1020.
--(What I said) This is 2nd year. Answers asked in French are always to be answered in French. You're in 2010, you can do it.
--(What I wanted to say) Yes, because you were in 1020 with someone who didn't care how much French you learned nor about preparing you for 2nd year, apparently, but just wanted to make things as easy for you and as hassle-free for themselves as possible, or had had Just That Much Too Much of your whining. Basically you took PUSSY FRENCH. I teach the non-pussy variety. Which explains why your glares have started to segue into puzzled looks as we ever so slightly advance in difficulty this semester.
