What's in a name, revisited

I'm too lazy to go find and link the old posts on this but if anyone's really itching to see them, let me know and I'll do it for you next time I need procrastination activity from test-grading or something.

Suffice to say that students' weird treatment of their own names continues. Before, I've had those who spelled their family names differently depending on the day or mood, people who put quotes around their name all semester, and people (have 3 more of these this semester) who use only their first name, because really they're still in grade school in their heads.

Craziest one this semester is Joe, who always signs his name (my quotes) "Ricci, Joseph" both on quizzes and on the two emails he's sent me. I feel like calling him that in class one of these days.

"Ricci, Joseph... Numéro 5, s'il vous plaît?"

At least no one is dotting their i's with hearts this semester. (No, I'm not kidding.)
