who's teaching this class?

All the fun stuff for adjuncthell always happens when people are filing out...

Sandy approaches my desk and says she'll be absent Friday for something personal so what should she do. I say that the daily quiz will be dropped (they get one drop per chapter - see I'm not SUCH an ogre!) and otherwise to read the syllabus absence policies or just use one of her 5 unexcused absences. Or, rather, I almost say all that before I'm rudely interrupted by Alice, the 9h token nosy faux-know-it-all, who says to Sandy, "You can make up the quiz, don't worry!"

Um, in whose reality do quiz make-ups exist in my class? Not mine. Funny that she supposedly knows so much about class protocols since after Sandy left (having been gently corrected by yours truly re: quiz make-ups) Alice proceeds to ask me how much the tests and essays are worth and how each one adds up in our points total. I answered the basics but told her to consult the syllabus and the gradebook guidelines on Blackboard and then see me if she still had questions.

A break give me please.
