Little Miss Anal

I know you've missed me - funny but when I've been getting lots of sleep and/or haven't had any tests to give lately, student shenanigans seem either to drop or not bug me so much!

Today's test day AND I have the Mother of All Headcolds so of course I have a comment or two...

Well, one for starters... I don't think I've told you of Little Miss Anal in my 8am class... Some backstory ('cause I know you love it when I digress...) is on the first test there was one question which was slightly ambiguous. LMA brought it to my attention and I was nice and gave her the .3 (out of 100) points back and mentioned in my email to her that I was going to just auto add .3 onto everyone's score (OK that part is ME being anal but whatever - for the record I did recall that around 65-70% of them had missed it).

Miss Anal's answer to me in email: "Well doesn't that mean that some people will get .3 added onto their score who don't deserve it and they'll have a higher grade than the rest of us?"

I answered: "Yes, it does but this is the fairest and easiest way to deal with it. Bear in mind, please, Jamie, that this is not a competition. As long as you got your .3 don't worry about the others."

Anyway today one of the questions in the True/False culture section dealt with the slang word for "work." (Sidenote: this is FRENCH class.)

LMA: For this question do you mean anywhere, or in France?

me: Um, France.

WTFWTFWTFWTFWTF...
Seriously did we have spring break yet? I'm just not feeling it. If I weren't so full of cold medicine I'd go have a margarita.
