That Slogan Generator is pretty fun. And not a little clairvoyant. This was the very first slogan I was given for the prompt “Stupid Students” after one such student emailed asking what would be on the final, info which, as I told J, students couldn’t spit without hitting either on WebCT or on my homepage. She wasn’t alone, either; someone else emailed to find out how much the final was worth. Of course all of us get such questions at the end of the semester, this is nothing new, but it infuriates me more and more that they can’t frigging remember that ANY AND ALL important info is VERY CLEARLY posted on my homepage and on WebCT. I mean come on! Where do you THINK it can be found? Use your heads for two seconds. Eyeroll.
Sadness tomorrow morning – the 2pm class’s final is my first one, as I said before, so I’ll have far less fun to look forward to the rest of finals week. Knowing them we’ll probably even have fun tomorrow during the final.
Finally outta here. I blew off so much yesterday so have been in here today since 8am except for a half hour at home this evening to feed the cats and myself. Had about 3 components from the final chapter to finish grading and then to post to WebCT for each of my four class sections, then I rearranged most of the WebCT gradebook for each also so they can see all their pre-final exam grades in a more logical manner plus rigged a cumulative average column (you have to fake WebCT out to do this the way I want it to be – always kinda puffs me up that I can do that shit – what can I say, take your victories wherever you can...)
Pooped. Better go rest up for the onslaught of student complaints and whining over the next several days. Always invigorating hearing people attempt to justify why their borderline final grade should be put up to the next letter even tho they neglected to fulfill a dozen or more course requirements. Their unflinching self-importance... Their utter naïveté... It's really quite touching. The end of semester turns them all into academic extra-terrestrials from some rosey planet with no consequences for one's actions. They don't seem to understand our Earth logic.
Wait a minute... I'm starting to think this actually could be a viable theory...
